Navigating Podcasting During the Holiday Season
Leah Bryant [00:00:00]:
Foreign. Welcome back to the Podcasting Problem Solver. I am Leah Bryant, your Go to Podcast growth strategist, here to help you podcast with more strategy. At ease. Now, let's be honest for a second. The holidays are coming. I know. They're literally knocking at our doors.
Leah Bryant [00:00:19]:
Did you just tense up? Your to do list is longer than Santa's. Your energy is tanking faster than your phone battery at 3%, which is such a pain, isn't it? And you're wondering how on earth you're supposed to keep showing up for your audience when your brain is already in holiday hibernation mode. Are you shaking your head yes with me? Well, here's what I want you to remember. The holidays don't have to be a podcasting productivity black hole. No, sir. No, ma'. Am. In fact, this time of year is the perfect opportunity to lean on one of the most underused stress saving strategies out there.
Why Repurposing Podcast Content Is Your Holiday Secret Weapon
Leah Bryant [00:01:00]:
And that, my friend, is repurposing. By the end of this episode, you'll know exactly how to repurpose your existing podcast episode for the holidays in a way that keeps your show visible, your audience engaged, and your sanity intact. So let's start with something that I see all the time. That taking time off means you're going to lose momentum. That if you're not publishing new episodes every single week, your audience is going to disappear into the snowy abyss and never return. Well, that's a crock. You know what? Because consistency is about staying visible and relevant and repurposing. That's how you stay visible without burning out.
Leah Bryant [00:01:37]:
I can guarantee that your audience is not memorizing your catalog of episodes like a Netflix binge. Okay? If you bring back a valuable topic, update it slightly and share it again. This is you being strategic. And your future self is going to thank you. Maybe you've done this. Or maybe you've tried to do this before. I'd love to know. Send me a DM on Instagram Leah bryantco and let me know how your experience with.
Leah Bryant [00:02:06]:
I might even have a suggestion for you for this year. Okay, so let's break this down using my seamless podcast framework. Specifically, the execution and momentum phases. Now, execution, if you've been here for a while, you know, and if you haven't, welcome. Execution is about creating with intention and not the panic. Right? And momentum is about building sustainability so that you can keep showing up even when life gets busy. Because, yes, it happens. Now, repurposing sits right at the intersection of these two.
Repurposing Tactics for Your Podcast: Quick Win Holiday Plan
Leah Bryant [00:02:40]:
So here's your quick win Repurposing Plan for the Holidays first up is one of my favorites. So refresh a greatest hit. Look back at your analytics and find out which episodes performed the best this year. Reintroduce them with a quick new intro or outro. So something like this episode originally aired last February, but it's one of the most downloaded episodes of the year and perfect for the holiday season. Boom. Done. You've just refreshed content and stayed consistent.
Creating a “Best Of” Podcast Miniseries
Leah Bryant [00:03:08]:
Another option is create a Best of miniseries. So bundle three to five related episodes and and frame them as a seasonal series. So something like the podcast growth rewind top three episodes to help you plan for 2026. So this will give you structure and it gives listeners easy listen points while you take a break. Then there's the slice and share. Okay, you can pull short clips from your episodes, put those all into an episode like and call it the Best of and have clips from different episodes that you love into one episode. Last but certainly not least is the reframe and republish take an evergreen episode. So like, for me, I would do maybe one on SEO or maybe it's something about Pinterest and tie it into a seasonal theme.
Seasonal Podcast Content: Reframing Evergreen Episodes
Leah Bryant [00:03:55]:
So something like Holiday downtime is the best time to refresh your show notes for SEO. So it's the same advice. It's just fresh context right now. Bonus idea is you can ask your audience that's always the go to run a quick poll or a story asking which episode you want to revisit this month. It not only drives engagement for you, but it also gives you data on what your audience values. Not just do this on social media. You can do this in your newsletters or wherever you engage with your audience. Now.
Real-Life Repurposing: Client Success Story
Leah Bryant [00:04:23]:
One of my clients came to me last December completely overwhelmed. She had about 75 or so episodes already at her library. She was traveling, she was juggling family stuff, and she told me, leah, I cannot keep up. So instead of pushing her to record, I looked at her analytics and her top three episodes were about visibility, storytelling and mindset. So I suggested that she just refresh those, update the intros with like holiday energy and share them as a mini winter strategy series. And the result? Yep, her downloads increased by 18% during December, the same month she didn't record a single new episode. And it's because her content was still showing up and her listeners appreciated the reminder of her best advice. That's what happens when you work with your momentum and not against it.
Building Podcast Momentum: Sustainability Over Hustle
Leah Bryant [00:05:09]:
So if you're planning your holiday podcast schedule right now, as most of us are. And if you're not, please do so. It will save you in the future. I want you to remember this repurposing doesn't have to be about cutting corners. Right. I want you to reframe that thinking to how it's about building sustainability. And then momentum doesn't require new episodes each week. Nope.
Leah Bryant [00:05:32]:
But it does require intentional visibility. And then execution is about doing what works best for you and not doing everything at one time. Because who has time for that anyway? And that's a seamless way. So if you're not sure which episodes are worth resurfacing or where your growth strategy might be leaking listeners, well, that's where I can help. And I am so stinking excited about this because it's brand new, spanking new as of like last week. And honestly, it's something that I created after having lots of conversations in the DMs with people and hearing what they wanted. You don't want another long term coaching program right now. And I get it.
Introducing the Seamless Growth Audit
Leah Bryant [00:06:13]:
You just want to know what's wrong, why it's not working, and what to do to fix it. And that's exactly why I built the Seamless Growth Audit. It's a focused one on one strategy session where we dig into your podcast data and uncover what's really blocking your growth. From your content strategy to your SEO to your listener journey, you'll walk away with a deeper understanding of your podcast's potential and the confidence to make every next move count. And here's the best part. If you decide to keep the momentum going and join a seamless sprint or a seamless refresh, the cost of the audit does roll into it, so it's a no brainer way to start small, right? You get clarity fast, you move forward with confidence, and you can grab a spot. There are limited openings right now because of the holidays, so use the link in the show notes. So here's your quick win that I want you to walk away with.
Your Holiday Podcast Action Plan
Leah Bryant [00:07:01]:
You don't need to power through the holidays. Nope. What you do need is a plan, right? One that supports not just your show, but it also supports your sanity. Because when you repurpose intentionally, you're not pressing pause on your podcast. You are being very strategic and setting yourself up for continued success. So until next time, friend, keep podcasting with purpose. Give yourself permission to rest and as always, keep it seamless and I'll see you next time.
